Mark Brinkerhoff Explains CyberMiles’ Genesis Validator Program

CyberMiles has recently launched its MainNet and has garnered a lot of attention relating to that. For their MainNet, CyberMiles has envisioned to create a better ecosystem for fast, secure system of validations. They want to implement a system of 19 super nodes on which they can run their consensus algorithm. Each supernode would have CMTs staked, while they would also have high computing powers, enough to make the network transactions and validations faster, as to reach above 10K tps. They’re already way ahead Ethereum in their technical benchmarks. CyberMiles is trying to reach new heights with their Genesis Validator supernode program.

Team BlockPublisher recently got in contact with Mark Brinkerhoff, the VP of communications of CyberMiles. He explained the Genesis Validator program briefly stating in an email,

This program is an extension of CyberMiles’ Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) mechanism, which we believe is an improvement over the PoS mechanism. In DPoS, which is similar to a representative democracy with land suffrage in human society, the token holders vote for a small number of representatives. These elected reps, whom we call “validators,” represent all token holders in running network operations — more stable, more efficient and, with genesis, in place from the very beginning.

Further explaining the technicalities, he explained that the super nodes were kept to a number of 19 to maintain a consensus algorithm since they can’t be divided in two. He said,

Like PoW and PoS, ours is based on consensus mechanism, which is why we have 19 Supernodes to start. Since 19 can’t be divided easily by two, a consensus always can be reached.

A genesis validator candidate has to stake a good amount of CMTs for being a part of the campaign. Once a super node with more CMTs staked enters the system, they would have more say in the decision making. Explaining this, Mark said,

Those who have staked more naturally have more potential sway in the process. While they can weigh decision-making more heavily, they nevertheless still are beholden to our DPoS consensus mechanism.

With their MainNet launched and the token swap process complete, CyberMiles envisions to go way beyond their road map plans while also providing the best utility by their fast, secure and transparent e-commerce platform. According to Mark, CM would be entering the new chapter of development and growth. Seeing these plans in the pipeline, it is hoped that CyberMiles platform and their currency would progress as they plan it to.
