We all know what cryptocurrencies are (until and unless you’ve been living under a rock). Apparently, everyone is getting in on the action!
But, somehow crypto-talk has found its way into Tinder. Yes, it might seem weird for some people, not everyone though! It has become a new dating trend called “cryptomancing.”
We will let you decide for yourself if its terrible or not.
But, What the Hell is Cryptomancing Anyway?
It’s a term coined by The Guardian. It’s when your match on a dating app starts talking about crypto or they think they could give the other some investment advice. Yes, it’s pretty much real!
For Some It’s Romantic
The cryptomancer – crypto for “cryptocurrency” and mancer “romancer” is someone who wants to woo you with their crypto-talk. It might be sexy and it might be a real turn off for someone. If you ask us, maybe the talk about economy and money on a first date can be saved up for another time? Just to play safe you know?
It Happens Super Fast
The cryptomancer doesn’t play any games. They often just cut right through the chase and start talking about crypto after three to four general messages. They are rather a bit too eager we’ll say. Or maybe just super enthusiastic to find their crypto-match!
Some Even Start The Conversation with Crypto-Talk
The crypto-ambitious souls start their conversations with cryptocurrency. It could be disappointing for some who don’t know sh*t about crypto and might feel overwhelmed or even stupid. While, some who have bad experiences with dating apps will be glad it wasn’t a di*k and just some crypto-talk.
There Are Even Some Crypto-Pickup Lines
While pickup lines can sometimes come across as too cheesy. Sometimes it could be a total turn on, especially if someone returns the favor. It could be a great conversation starter. Rachel Thompson a Lifestyle writer, conducted an experiment and used crypto-pickup lines on her Tinder. Her “I wanna be your monero” was rewarded back with a “You can interrogate my private digital protocols anytime.” The guy took the bait and it completely worked in her favor! It might not be such a bad idea after all huh?
It Might Be For You and Your Match, If You’re Into Crypto
The thing is, if you and your match have crypto as a common element. Then it could be absolutely amazing for the both of you to find a common ground and to break the ice. But, the rule is. It would be rather more logical to know about each other’s interest and ask generically if the other person is into crypto as much as you are.
Then you can drop in those crypto-pickup lines you have under your sleeves! Wouldn’t it be a more genuine way to connect this way? After all Tinder and many dating apps are for connecting, you can connect on anything. But, make sure not to creep the other person out!
So, the question is. Are you a cryptomancer?
