Using Blockchain to Fund Feminist Campaigns

The first ever female token made it’s way to the public in January 2018. This token (FEM) is aimed to help people to raise awareness and funds on the subject of feminism.

Their business collateral says:

The main purpose of token sale is a support for our sisters in Feminist Ideas, Beliefs, Movements! After bonus token distribution our team will prepare a list of projects that support our ideas and are looking for a donations. All collected funds will be transferred to donations.

We deeply understand that no we do not need tokens, cryptos and blockchain to believe in and support the ideas of feminism and gender equality or egalitarianism.

The world is evolving at a rapid pace. Newer arenas such as cryptos and blockchain or artificial intelligence can not lag in terms of all gender rounded participation for maximum evolution of the industry and the genders themselves. (in the most effective and most representative manner)

However, having them as an opportunity in the realm overwhelmingly dominated by men and mostly, mistaken for all-male, is amazing. It is a women-born-and-woman-cared-for token. Unlike any other.

How brilliant is that?

People are already trying to work towards small scale operations and self financing or crowdfunding their ideas of empowerment and what not. But, having a toke is a different feeling altogether. It means good things for every person looking to work and progress.

The world of tokens is two steps ahead of the world of GoFundMe and Kickstarter. It was already too cool that we could have millions of people to fund our ideas, now with this, we can have our funding our way, in a currency of our own choosing and creation to further the cause we believe in.

We are not trying to femsplain the world of cryptos and tech. But, growth and evolution is essential. Instead of the industry trying to solve the issues later on in the saturated phases (to appeal to a ‘gap in the market’ i.e. women and minorities). So much of our collective global culture is based on patriarchal assumptions.

The oppression of women can stop once that they are represented well enough to be empowered adequately. Having a female cared token is the beginning of it. Using it to educate, transform and help alleviate the problems of discrimination and misogyny are the next steps in the long journey.

As a token holder you also could vote for sponsored projects. It looks to counter street harassment, rape culture and male privilege. It allows decentralised form of organizing feminist campaigns. Every token holder could add their project to the Feminist Foundation and if another token holders vote for the project, they can even invite a sponsor to support the cause.

They are looking to do more projects and to prepare more rounds for voting process to choose the next doners and events. Misogynist men have been giving it a hard time on the social media showing hate and calling it ‘gold digger token and what not.’ Let’s condemn the hate!

So here’s to being independent! Here’s to decentralizing!

The crypto times are good times to be alive in.
