CryptoZombies, Learn How To Code Ethereum Through A Strategy Game

So while researching on all the ways that newbies can learn how to code and create their own games, we came across CryptoZombies. To our surprise, it was free. At you home. all comfy, free of cost? There had to be a catch and thus we started to look into it.
Here’s what we found:
It said that it is ”a free, interactive code school that teaches you to build games on Ethereum.” This still did not clarify why it was free. So we thought maybe it is a really shitty and in app purchases kinda service. So we tried to take a lesson and rate the learning.
The course is designed for beginners to Solidity and starts off with the absolute basics. Perhaps, there should have been a less-than-beginner course setting too, that would have been a bigger break through. But, well, there was a lot more to learn and Google makes rest easier anyway. So i had not coded with Solidity or any other ever before. What CryptoZombies does is that it helps the user by walking through the user step by step.
It was all in-browser, it felt like one of those step-by-step math lessons you take from an online tutor for hire. The project takes you from the very basics of Solidity to creating your own fully-functional blockchain-based game. At least that is its promise. And of all of the other things you can do to make money off of the Ethereum Blockchain, we really liked the option of building your own game a lot.
CryptoZombies takes too much burden of proof on it when it says that you can call yourself an official Solidity developer by the end of Lesson 1, in a single sitting, at least, not for us. It was simple, but perhaps it is not for first time coders. It is hard to find a fit so well for learning the basics though, we can give Kudos for this to them at least!
People can earn crypto-collectible Zombies and bonuses by completing coding lessons.
The first lesson helps the learner build a Zombie Factory to build their own army. This was a great idea. Every Zombie created has randomly generated DNA and thus a unique appearance. New lesson is released each week. They help in refining the game further.
After completing all lessons and deploying the DApp, the user can pit their zombie army against other players’ zombies in one of the world’s first blockchain-based games.
It is at best a half code-school, half MMO crypto-collectible strategy game.
It is free because it is a project of Loom Network. They are trying to build a platform and community for running large-scale applications on Ethereum sidechains.
The game is designed to inspire a whole new generation of developers and for a purpose, we think this one is legendary!
