Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Bitcoins!

It truly wasn’t this mans day, week, month, or year. A wild story from two months ago and we are just as shocked at the craziness so we are telling you this one so you can be aware as well.

So, a cohort of young men was accused of drunkenly assaulting their friend to exhort the credentials to his cryptocurrency wallet. This incident occurred in New York, the hub of crazy stories.

Yeap, you’re no longer safe, not even around your friends especially if you own some bitcoins.

According to the report, the attackers demanded the victim “provide […] login information for his cryptocurrency accounts while holding his head underwater in the bathtub, punching him in the stomach, and throwing hot wax on him.”

What’s with the hot wax? Bathtubs and hot wax? This sure sounds kinky all of a sudden.

The super nice friends also ransacked his apartment in the process.

After obtaining the CCTV, the groups of defendants were seen leaving the apartment couple of hours later with something that looked similar to a laptop hidden under some clothing.

The following day, the victim recovered from his hangover and found out that his laptop, two mobile phones, and a hardware wallet were missing. But whether the money was stolen or not was still unclear.

Everything was returned by the perpetrators and the laptop was covered in hot wax…

I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS. Especially with the hot wax.

The defense lawyers denied all accusations of course and provided a piece of audio evidence in which it’s claimed that the victim admits his accusations are not true.

Unfortunately, a lot of pieces are missing from this wild, hot wax, bitcoin story. Who knew bitcoin and hot wax would end up in the same sentence??

Anyway, the half-truth didn’t suffice and the defendants were released on bail but another hearing is due in March.

Don’t know if this is a good thing or not because this does mean that people WANT bitcoin.
