Binance and Ripple for a partnership
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of the biggest crypto exchange, Binance announced that Binance would definitely want to partner with Ripple’s xRapid for cross-border payments, in the future. xRapid is a partner of several other exchange whereby which it allows users to convert their local currency to XRP and send the digital asset to another country, where it can be converted back to fiat. In his first livestream, CZ while answering many questions mentioned: “We’re focused on launching more features right now, so we are working with a number of other partners. With xRapid, there’s nothing going on right now, but in the future we’ll definitely want to add them as a partner.”
Reddit user interacts with an idea for XRP
A reddit user proposes an idea to use XRP for paid e-mails. The purpose behind this is to control spam emails, given that charging to e-mail inhibits people to send useless e-mails, and is likely to negatively cost spammers.
Ripple includes 11 new universities to its UBRI program
Ripple’s academic program called Universities Blockchain Research Initiative, UBRI was started in June 2018 to encourage academic research, innovation and development in the blockchain and crypto space. Ripple has now included 11 new universities in the program which include:
- Carnegie Mellon University;
- Cornell University;
- Duke University;
- Georgetown University;
- University of Kansas;
- University of Michigan;
- Morgan State University;
- National University of Singapore;
- Northeastern University;
- University of Sao Paulo, and
- Institute for Fintech Research, Tsinghua University.
Launch of Tech Investment Group with Ripple
Zach Katz launched an investment group, Raised in Space Enterprises with Ripple’s Xpring which will raise for tech entrepreneurs working on solutions for the music industry such as those for creation, distribution, fan engagement, ticketing and touring. Other contributors to the group include Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, and the tech and music entrepreneur Shara Senderoff.

Finablr and Unimoni partner with Ripple
Finablr, the UAE-based payments and foreign exchange company and Unimoni are set to partner with Ripple to offer cross-border remittances to Thailand. Finablr has also partnered with the Thai bank, Siam Commercial Bank, , to provide the service on RippleNet. Finablr aims to provide the service to other countries.
