Police Bust Mining Rig After Confusing It For A Drug House In Australia
Who says crypto mining isn’t risky business? Because this titillating tale of a man and his mining operation prove that even the cryptoverse as a workplace can have it’s share of job related problems.

Adelaide Police in South Australia raided a residence they suspected was the center for marijuana production and dealing after they correlated the residence’s insane energy bills and state of the art ventilation system for a drug operation.

However, when they barged in by breaking the front gate, were they in for a surprise! The house in question belongs to Robert Butvilla and is in fact a crypto mining facility which is absolutely legal! The owner is now contemplating whether or not he should file a lawsuit.
Butvilla posted the security footage outside his house on YouTube which shows that the Adelaide police not only broke into his home in order to investigate and upon finding no illegal drugs also left a note that read, ‘called today, but could not find anyone present.’
Butvilla is not only angered by the cop’s unnecessary and illegal messing about his property but is currently facing a loss of around $1,000 worth of damage. furthermore, the careless cops also left his front gate broken and highly vulnerable to thieves who easily made their way inside the property and allegedly stole his security camera and a hard drive.
Unfortunately for the crypto miner, the police only mistook his residence for a marijuana growth operation because of the similarities in power consumption and ventilation systems the two operations have in common.

That being said, the police failed to comply with protocol as they never contacted or questioned Butvilla regarding the matter, left his expensive equipment unprotected and also broke his front gate causing further damages.
In a report by U.Today, the police however have claimed that they were following standard procedures during the investigation, but Butvilla is considering suing his local police after the incident.
