Paralelni Polis Apologized to Satoshi Labs and Braiins Systems for Mishap

Parelelni Polis recently acknowledged the recent events that happened in their premises, and have issued official apologies to the parties who withdrew their support in the light of the unfortunate events that happened.

Parelelni Polis received statements from Slush Pool (Braiins Systems) and Satoshi Labs in which they notified Parelelni Polis that they would be giving up their sponsorship for the initiative of Polis i.e. Hackers’ Congress Paralelni Polis (HCPP).

Satoshi Labs even tweeted publicly,

Unfortunately, you won’t see us at HCPP18 this year. We won’t attend, nor will we sponsor the event.

This happened when Satoshi Labs observed the recent events which were happening in the premises of Bitcoin Cafe and Parelelni Polis. They were known to hold their values, and the environment that they provided their people was commendable, but recently, unfortunate events have happened in Parelelni Polis. The event which was most talked about by Satoshi Labs was where a board member indulged in a physical conflict with a person and according to SL, he was “exerting his power and influence, both psychologically and physically.” SL thought that Polis was being unjust by sweeping the incident of the board member under the rug while for others they had strict rules. This made them withdraw their support for their initiative HCPP.

Just 3 weeks before HCPP’18, Slush Pool and Satoshi Labs have given up their sponsorship for the event which shook Parelelni Polis pretty hard to their roots. The statements sent by both these companies acted as wrecking balls for the company. These companies have been long term partners for the previous years of HCPP. This long term partnership made these companies more valuable to HCPP than any other. Because of this, PP issued an official apology while also looking deep into the matter.

They explained a neutral perspective of the story by analyzing both sides of the picture. They gave out the name of the Board Member who was involved in the physical conflict, Roman Týc. According to PP, the guy was placed in a stressful situation which he could’ve handled better but got caught in the flow of events. They explained that the intention of Roman was to remove an unwelcome guest from the private property of Bitcoin Coffee and as he is responsible of the premise, he had the freedom to ban anyone from entering the area. But the individual, was not banned from entering at the time of the incident and had a meeting set up with another member of Polis.

The incident had a great impact on their community a part of which then refrained from entering the cafeteria. PP apologized to the community and said that they have learned their lesson. They said catering to all the problems put forth by Satoshi Labs,

We have taken our lesson, and we will handle all complicated situations in the future in a way which is consistent with our core values. We also pledge to make all decisions of the conduct inside of the private premises of Paralelní Polis clear and explicit.

As a token of respect for their previous sponsors, they have also issued passes for the employees of the company to attend the congress. Furthermore, they ensured that Bitcoin Coffee is a safe place to visit and they could visit any time. They further stated,

We would like to emphasize that Bitcoin Coffee will stay a safe place for all our visitors as well as employees and Paralelní Polis will stay a safe crypto haven for all enthusiasts looking for freedom and parallel society.

Although the setbacks are huge for Paralelni Polis, but they aren’t holding back for the congress and are working very hard to make the event better than the previous ones.
