Mark.Space: Advent of the 3D Internet

Mark.Space is an emerging pioneer in the blockchain industry. The startup is combining the ever-popular VR, AR and Mixed Reality Technologies with Blockchain to provide users the ability to create web-based 3D virtual environments/spaces and objects. According to Mark.Space, the platform is maintained by a crypto economy and is powered by Blockchain. And that’s not even the best part. For you to start using the platform, you, like millions of others, don’t need to know how to code or 3D model. Instead, start building your online VR store for your business, entertainment, shopping or any other space you might have in mind. Mark.Space will help you perfect the visual image of your store on your favorite devices with the help of the good old drag and drop.

According to their WhitePaper, The platforms further allows users to design their own virtual space and fill it with furniture, paintings and other details of interior decoration. Users can also add different types of content, such as YouTube videos, Instagram photos, as well as audio and text files. The templates of various spaces are available, including personal apartments, exhibition halls, gaming clubs, restaurants, movie theaters, and offices that could be used as the VR headquarters of companies.

According to their official Website:

The MARK.SPACE universe is created by complex mathematical calculations, rather than by ordinary programming.

The platform will consist of districts that are virtual spaces for creations of ones own stores. The districts will allow owners/creators a variety including Community, Residential, Business and Shopping. Education and Entertainment districts will be added to the platform later on.

A Community District could organize itself and claim a certain number of units. Large communities could claim entire buildings, if they so wish and have sufficient funds to support it. The community will be a form of Decentralized Autonomous Organization run by smart contracts on the blockchain.

The Residential District, as the name suggests, consists of housing or sets apartments/condos that allow users to design their own homes according to their preferences.  Furniture items and various designs are available on the system. Furthermore, Entire buildings could be bought by anybody with the aim of reselling or renting the units to the public.

Shopping Districts consist of shopping malls. The concept of selling products via online stores has been lingering around since quite a while and can finally be seen, demonstrated by Mark.Space. Imagine trying on clothes online. Elsewhere, toy stores can also flourish due to online tours. The ease comes with the option to make a showroom instead of a whole store.

Where does Blockchain fit into all of this?

Instead of completely relying on the Ethereum Virtual Machine, Mark.Space will have it’s own blockchain, developed in a scripting language similar to JavaScript. Written in Solidity, Ethereum smart contracts are executed to mark ownership of digital/virtual objects, items and real estate assets on the platform.

The structure is completely decentralized through the use of 3 types of servers: Data Servers, Services, and Hubs. Data Servers will be managing the storage of blocks manipulating block data. Services will accept and execute tasks and produce results. Hubs will be storing the addresses of blocks and other servers as well.

Mark.Space Object Scripting Language

The language (MOSL) is similar to JavaScript and will be used to create objects on the platform. Visualize objects in 3D, add visual effects or even monitor the whole interaction with the object as a user would; all is possible with the addition of the Mark.Space API, rendering API, financial transactions API and other third party APIs that are called when objects are in the process of being created. To get a full description of the MOSL internals, visit the official WhitePaper.

MRK is an ERC-20 token that will be the primary mode of transaction across the platform. The token will be distributed amongst users in a number of ways including Selling or Renting Units, Selling Products, Selling custom 3D objects/assets. Selling Ads or any sort of digital content. Digital wallets will not only be available for users but for communities as well. Advertising is perhaps the 21st Century’s biggest milestone and Mark.Space recognizes the opportunity. Event Creation and digital promotion of events is now possible through the click of a few buttons.

Other monetization strategies include selling of Digital Content such as music, videos and book through Virtual Stores and Renting Apartments through websites like Airbnb.

Distributed Rendering

Mark.Space is ready to use the full power of miner networks in order to ensure smooth VR experiences. All available miners.miner farms will be given short computation intensive tasks which, if passed, will allow those miners to take part in Mark.Space’s network, share resources and earn money. This sort of distributed computing allows rendering to be distributed amongst users, which simultaneously transform 3D scenes into single frames and further into pixels.

Future Plans

Mark.Space’s campaign consists of a number of Token Sales where the price of the MRK token would increase, depending upon the stage of the Token Crowdsale Campaign. Round 6 of the token sale is yet to announced but is expected to take place in 2019.

Mark.Space is opening its doors for back-end developers to help secure the platform from threats and front-end developers to make the platform as visually satisfying as possible. Moreover, the Mark.Space Object Scripting Language will be available for developers to use sometimes in 2019.
