Since it is Thursday this calls for a little throwback to the time when Kim Kardashian received her first ever physical Bitcoin. We have all heard that Bitcoin is a “digital” currency so how did Kim K. end up getting a physical Bitcoin? The answer is simple, she’s a Kardashian. She can have anything.
But apart from all of this what does it mean for the world of crypto and Hollywood? Is this a union we’ve been waiting for?
Kim, being the media personality that she is, didn’t miss a chance to flaunt her bitcoin on the social media as soon as she got it.
“If Only” was a Texas Hold’em Poker tournament hosted by Richie-rich philanthropists Irving and Shelli Azoff for the cancer-related charity, City of Hope. Charitable participants were promised a game with the Kardashians to try out your luck and win some bounty.
The Kardashians, dressed in all black, kept the event classy. They were busy snapping photos – gotta keep the social media fam updated you know – and attempting to play poker with a coach to guide them. Joining them on the table was a crypto entrepreneur, Mathew Roszak, who came prepared to woo the Kardashians with his Bitcoins.
While playing the game he gave Kim Kardashian West, her very first physical bitcoin. It is arguably the most famous from the Klan.
All of you must be wondering why was Kim awarded with $8,000 when she has so much money of her own? What was Mathew trying to achieve?
Without much speculation, we all know it was for publicity. Kim has over 110 million Instagram followers and much more on other social media platforms as well. The Kardashians have been the center of attention for a really long time now and it seems that everything they do just becomes a trend. Kim was the first to rise to fame because of her scandalous career but we’re not interested in that.
It is newsworthy content, with Ashton Kutcher embracing Ripple, this is the first time Bitcoin has been featured to a mainstream audience.
Mathew Roszak, her bitcoin benefactor, is the co-founder of Bloq. A while ago he said, “Every brand, every artist, every tribe, can tokenize their economy,”, which we believe was his plan all along. He gave her Kialara which was quite hip a while ago. They are limited edition encasings. The case is beautifully designed with holograms, sterling silver, aluminum, stainless steel, along with engravings.
There is no word from Kim herself on what she plans to do with her Bitcoin. But is Kim Kardashian on the Bitcoin express as well? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
