Fortnite, You Should Start Listening to Bitcoin!

Fortnite is one of the most popular games. I have seen people of all ages indulge in it. It has been the most profitable game in history, bringing in a revenue of more than $1.2 billion.

Although it wasn’t the first free-to-play game the lethal combination of Minecraft style and massive multiplayer shooting with cartoon-style graphics has helped it amass 125 million players in less than a year!

Did you know Fortnite has a little black market as well? Well, nothing too illegal or suspicious but people sell their accounts. Although this is illegal according to the game protocol, people still do it. They build players and when they reach a higher level, they sell them off on eBay and other sites.

Moreover, another thing that adds to the consumer frustration is that Fortnite doesn’t allow you to transfer anything from the previous game. Every new blockbuster requires you to start from scratch. Damn… that’s not fair. Players are missing out here big!

According to statistics, which by the way are very legit, it was seen that people would be more inclined towards buying items if they could use them in more than one game and likewise, developers would be more keen towards developing in-app items if more people were buying it. And as we all know, in-app purchases are a pivotal component of their game’s monetization strategy.

Due to all of these reasons, blockchain is the golden bullet.

With blockchain at its core, the in-game items will have more impact and value than they do on Fortnite. People are more likely to pay for something if they know they can use it in more than one place. I mean, for now, not being able to reuse those items in other parts of the same game is a HUGE turn off from me.

Scarcity can also add value and increase new options for gameplay. Figures from different games available for a limited time period could really add the oomph factor to the game.

Not only this but, integrating blockchain could allow buying and selling of players, just like it happens in CryptoKitties and the likes of it. This way Fortnite could monetize on the black market as well.

It seems to us, Fortnite should have been on blockchain by now. The opportunities seem endless with this one. Moreover, both the parties gain something out of this deal.

It sounds like too good of an opportunity to let go. All that’s left to wonder is…

What is Fortnite even waiting for?!
