Ethereum Surpasses 100 Million Google Searches

Ethereum is perhaps the most popular blockchain at the moment and the impact the network has had on the cryptocurrency world since it was founded three years ago cannot be fully described. It would be hard to imagine the crypto space right now without Ethereum.

Ethereum Surpasses 110 Million Google Searches

With the importance of Ethereum to the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, it is no surprise that it has been Googled more than 110 million times. This information was released by ConsenSys, a blockchain venture production studio building decentralized applications on Ethereum, in its recent blog post.

The blog noted that over the past two years, the word Ethereum has been Googled over 110 million times. They also added that #ethereum gets a minimum of 20,000 tweets every day. The Ethereum network has been very robust since it was founded and has already processed over 240 million transactions. Over the past 24 hours, the network has processed more than 1.3 million transactions, which is a new record for the network.

The blog post further noted that the Ethereum blockchain is the most decentralized blockchain platform as it has roughly 17,000 nodes operating it in each of the six continents and has recently surpassed Bitcoin in terms of number of unique addresses, reaching 35 million unique addresses last week. Furthermore, the number of active addresses on the Ethereum network for the first time today surpassed the 1 million mark.

There is no blockchain network in the world that is more involved with smart contracts than Ethereum. Data revealed that 94% of the top 100 tokens in the market are all built and maintained on the Ethereum network, with 87% of the top 800 tokens in term s of market cap developed on the Ethereum blockchain. In addition to all that, tokens that were developed and maintained on the Ethereum network were responsible for the $5.5 billion raised in 2017 ICO sales and it has bumped the figures to $6.5 billion in the first quarter of the year.

Over 1,500 dApps Developed on Ethereum

Over the past three years, more than 1,500 dApps have been created on the Ethereum network with more still in development. Scalability has always been the main concern of Ethereum and the team is now working on several scalability projects such as Plasma that would enable the network process a million transactions per second.
