Ethereum Continues Partnerships To Expand

Ethereum has been on the move since its launch. It has been expanding by all means possible. Sometimes through generating funds such as Ethereum Community Fund (ECF) and on other occasions through Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). Ethereum is striving to make sure that it delivers the best in 2018 and that’s why every important or prospective expansion chance is opted immediately by Ethereum. A member of Ethereum Foundation and creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin endorses this very attitude and approach of Ethereum. He holds everything extremely necessary for 2018 that helps Ethereum to cope up with its name and accepts the adoption of every activity helpful. He said:

Ethereum has grown beyond my expectations over the last few years, but the work is clearly not finished. Delivering value that matches the hype should be the mantra of 2018.src: TechCrunch

Recently, Ethereum partnered with Minds + Machines Group Limited (MMX). The reason behind their latest partnership is to allow top level domain names to Ethereum. Previously, Ethereum Name Service (ENS) with a ‘.eth’ domain was used by Ethereum users to replace long addresses. But now MMX’s top-level domains will be used by users to register their addresses. To replace very long addresses, particularly 40 character identifiers, with a “human readable name’, a ‘.luxe’ domain that stands for ‘lets u xchange easily’ will be provided by MMX. It is considered a very user-friendly domain for Ethereum platform which will make accessing the blockchain’s assets and services like dApps and smart contracts, much easier for users than before. ENS lead developer, Nick Johnson looks forward to enhance ENS with DNS. He said:

We’re very excited to be helping advance integration between existing DNS-based name services and the Ethereum Name Service, improving usability for blockchain applications and users.

Apart from all this, ‘.luxe’ extension will also allow users to carry their internet activities using the same Ethereum address as the extension will be resolving names over internet for emails as well. Toby Hall, CEO of MMX, shares his views on the partnership as well. He looks forward to work with Ethereum by offering users with ‘.luxe’ names. He said:

We already know from Ethereum’s test in its non-ICANN authorized .eth zone that there is a real proven demand for word-based identifiers that are blockchain enabled, ENS having received deposits of over $28 million on approximately 300,000 seven character words and above in the .eth zone. We look forward to working with ENS to allow those .eth registrants the opportunity to claim their equivalent .luxe name before the Company launches .luxe for sale to the general public in late October.

Ethereum has been involved in many partnerships in past, to boost its network, popularity and reputation. Among them the most noticeable was the EEA. It included more than 500 firms. Some of them were the finest banks in the world such as BBVA, Credit Suisse and JPMorgan. EEA ranged from global banks to blockchain startups and  famous tech providers like Microsoft. EEA had a route map and chose Ron Resnick as EEA head to improve privacy, scalability, and security of Ethereum blockchain applications. Chairman of EE, justified the appointment of Ron in his statement. He said:

Ron’s task as our first Executive Director is to build-out the organization, engage with members and foster the continued development of technical content. … Ron has the experience and background to guide EEA through this period of rapid growth and expansion.

And Ron explained the agenda for EEA in these words:

The EEA’s Enterprise Ethereum Specification is the result of 18 months of intense collaboration between leading enterprise, technology and platform members within our technical committee. This EEA open-source, cross-platform framework will enable the mass adoption at a depth and breadth otherwise unachievable in individual corporate silos….My focus is to drive the further development of Ethereum-based technology best practices, open standards and open-source reference architectures to evolve Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology.

Besides EEA, ECF also allowed served for collaboration of different firms. It joined Cosmos, Golem, Global Brain Blockchain Labs, Maker, OmiseGo, Raiden and Tendermint to connect ethereum projects with more companies. As the name suggest, ECF aims to provide financial help to selected projects. Vitalik Buterin explained the assistance looked forward by ethereum in following words:

Delivering value that matches the hype should be the mantra of 2018; efforts such as the ECF which help organize the development of the ecosystem are going to help make that possible.

Ethereum, the second best cryptocurrency, has always seized opportunity that promises to act as an extension to Ethereum’s optimism and vision. And this certainly means implementation of expansion via partnerships and team work, which is all  what Ethereum is doing.
