If you thought things couldn’t get weirder in the Cryptoverse, you thought wrong!
Early in 2018, deceased Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar’s brother launched his own cryptocurrency and did so for the most bizarre reason; to fight back against the United States of America and their conspiracy created by alleged secret agent and creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Weird enough for you yet?
The cryto called Dietbitcoin was launched through Escobar Inc. by Roberto Escobar who is famous for his part in illicit activities for the Medellin cartel for which he also served 11 years in prison.
Earlier, Escobar assured the world in an interview to The Blast, that “the value will be very high soon,” while simultaneously urging that everyone should “buy as many dietbitcoin’s as you can afford.”
But wait, it gets even weirder!
The Dietbitcoin creator also released a 280 page e-book titled, Pablo Escobar’s Dietbitcoin: the True Story of Roberto Escobar that makes some outrageous claims along with explaining the author’s reason for launching the bizarre ICO.
Unlike the title, the actual book only has 1 chapter that actually talks of cryptos but boy, does it have some spicy content! In it, Escobar says that he actually met the infamous and anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Escobar also claimed that Satoshi wanted to collaborate with the Escobar family to create this new cryptocurrency and even added a photocopy of Satoshi’s passport as proof.
However, the book states that soon, Escobar realized that the man that met him under the guise of Satoshi was in fact a CIA operative and that’s why he writes, “I am the first person in the world…to publicly come out and claim that Bitcoin was created by the American Government, and I am not going to be the last person to say this. The world is going to wake up. The world is going to see that this was created by them. And when they see it, it is too late, and when the CIA founds out that the world knows about this, the CIA is going to sell all of their coins, and they will destroy the value of Bitcoin.”
Talk about a conspiracy!
He even went further on to warn crypto users of the dangers of sticking to Bitcoin or any of the other alt coins, “Because my coin is not a scam. You are free to buy the coin or not buy the coin. I don’t care. You can stick with your worthless coins. Keep the Ethereum, Keep the TRON, keep the Ripple, keep the Bitcoin. You will see what happens. They will all go to zero, almost zero, But not my coin. Because my coin, this is going to be my new work in life.”
So, can we trust this story?
Probably not. Considering Roberto Escobar once claimed that he had the cure for HIV while tending to expensive horses. But we’re still pretty excited to see where this story goes from here. The one about Nakamoto being a CIA agent. Not the one about horses curing AIDS.
