BTC.com to Host Bitcoin Cash Hackathon in Amsterdam on 27-28 October

BTC.com, the Bitcoin specialist platform that offers a multitude of services to wallet users, miners, and developers, has announced that it will be organizing the first major Bitcoin Cash Hackathon in Europe, which is set to take place in Rockstart HQ in Amsterdam. With prizes to be won on innovative programs built on Bitcoin, Lightning Network, Ethereum, and other blockchains, the hackathon also serves as a starting point for developers and business professionals looking for a move in blockchain applications and potentially land a job with BTC.com.

Vice President of Business Operations at BTC.com, Alejandro De La Torre welcomed all the developers and participants from blockchain background to the late-October event and anticipated great projects to come up from the platform. While talking to BlockPublisher, he said:

We are proud to host a bitcoin cash and cryptocurrency hackathon in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and look forward to meeting all the developers building their awesome stuff on the 27th and 28th of Amsterdam.

The hackathon promises to conjure together a diverse set of blockchain developers and engineers, especially enthusiasts and experts of Bitcoin Cash background. The event takes place in the hallmark city of Amsterdam, at the incubation hub of Rockstart and invites flourishing individuals and teams to showcase their talent.

Prizes to be won at the hackathon include EUR 3,500 paid in BCH on solutions delivered on the BCH track using latest tools on the blockchain such as opcodes, big blocks and smart contracts. In addition, the general track development winning prize is EUR 1,500 paid in BCH.

With this hackathon, BTC.com aims to bring together the crypto community and enable them to build innovative applications on decentralized networks. De La Torre shared the very sentiment and expressed the principle that BTC.com relies upon in striving to create various platforms for communal integration. He said:

We always strive to educate and bring forward cryptocurrency to as many people as we possbily can, it is important for us and for the industry to continue these type of events to foster growth and excitement in cryptocurrency and bitcoin cash.

Another interesting aspect about the BCH hackathon is that the event takes place on the weekend of 27-28 October, which is only a couple of weeks before the much anticipated BCH hard fork in November. This also creates an eco-system for developers and analysts from all corners of the Bitcoin Cash community to debate and brainstorm the network upgrade with each other.

BTC.com is partnered by a few of the biggest names in blockchain and crypto space in powering the October hackathon, such as Bitmain, Rockstart, Bitcoin.com, Holland Fintech, Permissionless, Rehive and Developer Circles.
