BCF Hosting Blockchain for Sustainable Development at UNCTAD World Investment Forum

The Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF) is all set to host Blockchain for Sustainable Development in Geneva, Switzerland on 24th October. The event is being held at The UNCTAD World Investment Forum, a biannual forum that brings together high-profile attendees from the global investment community. This includes heads of states, government, ministers, executives of global companies and stock exchanges, sovereign wealth fund managers, parliamentarians, civil society representatives, scholars and many more. The 5-day long event is being organized by the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS).

Changpeng Zhao, the Founder and CEO of Binance Exchange is scheduled to speak at the event along with a number of leaders of numerous blockchain-based platforms.

Since its creation, blockchain has caught a lot of attention due to its myriad of application in various fields including finance, healthcare, supply chain management, and even land registries. However, we are still standing at a considerable distance from a completely decentralized world. To be wholly regulated and accepted, there is a need for governments and the incumbent officials to turn to this technology considering all the favorable aspects it caters to. The conference aims to imprint the lucrative utility of blockchain-based platforms on the minds of leaders from all over the world.

Blockchain for Sustainable Development essentially targets to bring aboard investment stakeholders so that the advantages of blockchain can be delivered to a global audience. This event has been preceded by the ‘Blockchain for Social Good: Utilizing Blockchain to Aid Economic Development’ event, which was held last month. Both these events have the same goal i.e. utilize the decentralized technology to promote sustainable economic development.
