A War Is Coming For Digital Media Content Makers and Publishing Houses!

Influencers have the shittiest deals, even though they might seem to be the stars of our time. Yes, that is right, your favorite beauty guru could be responsible for popularity of cancerous products, Kardashians could be selling sugar pills as 32$ Gummy hair meds, game hackers could be secretly paid by the game makers, the iPhone super-fan could be paid for their fantasy phone story, and so on.

Digital Vine makers, Hollywood famous fitness geeks, Insta-famous content creators and pretty much any body who is doing content also gets horribly underpaying work, in an overly dominating agency, with little or no creative space to do their experimentation. Yes, this is why all the YouTube Click baits look similar, why GMM has started an entire complex morning show daily to maximize on the advertisers and in built sponsors and why Team 10 has been so dramatic.

But, these paid knowledge makers do not have the worst deals yes, book writers go to a publisher who will take 85% and edit 90% of the creative work they have done before signing up for a shitty deal.

Most publisher also do not like e-books because they do not understand how to market these. Funny right? We gave people fishing rod’s but they still have to figure out what to do with these rods. I have a fairly decent suggestion – They could let blockchain take over from here.

The decentralization by blockchain technology in the realms of content creation helps in:

Making existing literary works to be able to sell more content.

Making more money in secondary markets, since the content is powered by smart contracts you receive funds when the ebook, video or music is resold.

Engaging with an highly active viewer/reader-ship community.

Enjoying a greater reward for artist’s efforts.

Earning more than any of the shitty traditional media house deals.

Here are some of the blockchain based rescuers working to make the digital content great again!

Publica:

It is a publishing value chain and ecosystem. It is focusing on making Decentralized publishing a real thing. It is also working extensively on author empowerment at grassroots and nubile talent levels. Only in the print or text segments of content.

Poet:

This is a Digital media assets (books, articles, audio, video, music, animation, typography, imagery) focused solution that is working in the simplification of publishing, licensing and authentication of digi assets. It is working to produce verifiable attribution and interoperability of online media marketplaces.

Wespr:

It is working for all digital media assets, to provide assistance in distribution of content, artist and author empowerment, crowdfunding and mutual collaboration within the ecosystem to produce quality work.

Authorship:

Yet, another publishing value chain – that focuses primarily on textual content. They are hoping to build independent seamless publishing options, author empowerment systems, grass roots funding, in a decentralized environment.

DECENT:

Also focuses on all digital media assets in the simplification and ease of publishing, licensing, authentication of these assets, in the favor of the maker not the agency. Also, to produce verifiable attribution of digital creative works to help motivate the makers.

You can be a digital content maker now! Check these out and let us know what you think!
