The Blockchain Quickie: 2018 in a Nutshell

The year is finally coming to an end, and yes i am sure you have read plenty of crap that has started with this line. So, um, let’s restart.

The crypto town has been gleaming with new faces, stories of new highs, new lows, Twitter based celebrities and Conference famous startups. Crypto powered businesses are all the rave. Blockchain let’s people innovate and allow their ideas to enter the global marketplace in a permission-less decentralized way. Let’s take a look back and skimp through fun and funny bits.

The crypto town is also the home for digital scarcity, a concept that it gave birth to and was not even imaginable before blockchain came out. The internet originality and counterfeit proof asset creation and intellectual property is also another by-products of the crypto and blockchain fireworks.

The part has not even started yet and crypto collectibles are having all the fun. The time of our lives is here with being able to decentralize things even in the home front, no longer there is the authority of nuclear family or complex contemporary reconstituted patrons, you are your own king when it comes to pets, cartoon friends who are less imaginary more functional and game options such as virtual lands of some real world relevance. People have gone bonkers and we have got proof.

Then the times, they are changing for the dating app lovers. The year gave us some saucy competition to uninstall Tinder and welcome our new buddies. It is just sad that nobody is talking about them as much as we should. The apps that have come out and been announced are all the crazy inventions of the year. I just feel that the breakthrough for the dating industry is bigger than what crypto kitties has been able to generate. In terms of the tech complexity and new possibilities some of the biggest dating app issues having been resolved, or actually online dating issues have been resolved.

This means that uncles can not lie about their age, philosophies, put ten year old pictures or even worse, pictures of their sons to sex chat younger women up. This not only means no identity fraud, no lying but also that now dates can be rated, or reviewed. This can keep the dating system a regulated and well attended or well monitored one without having any body interfere or moderate. The ratings can do the talking now. Also, apps like Luna are focused on making the dating lives much more easier by anonymous research into the behavior patterns and  interaction data.

Scams and frauds have also come out, 2018 has been a year of ponzi pyramid schemes for ICO’s and Ethereum has shamelessly hosted many of them, at one time is was being called the home for these ICO’s.

The year also allowed newer games to be developed and Decentraland’s Genesis city to finally take a shape and be sold to some big major fans. The game has been followed by Axie Infinity launching its Lab whereby people can now raise their Axie’s from eggs to petite Axie’s to adult ones.

There is oh so much more, but for now this is it! See you guys again in an hour or so. Adios till then!
