Bitcoin Makes Its Way to Hollywood

Recently, I watching this show called BoJack Horseman. A show based on a famous TV celebrity that is now well in his mid-40s and is struck by the mid-life crisis. That character is every adult’s state of mind, mine too. Anyway, while watching that show, BoJack’s friend, Todd, makes a comment regarding bitcoins.

Basically, they mention bitcoins and that got me wondering how many times has it happened in other shows. Well, with a little research I found out that BoJack is not the first one AND, the list that was on Wikipedia did not even mention that show.

But here are few of the famous shows that do talk about it.

Family Guy

“Every month our savings get smaller and smaller. We’ve really got to figure out a better way to budget for this family’s future.

I don’t know.”

The Good Wife

Then in the show The Good Wife, the children are explaining to their mom what Bitcoin really is. It was a small informative way to engage people in this new ordeal. And, it was aired somewhere in 2012 so Bitcoin was relatively new at that time.

The Simpsons

Our most favorite show that keeps predicting the future, but did they predict the advent of bitcoin before it came in? Well, not really. The episode was aired somewhere in 2013. Mr. Krusty talks about how he got broke because of the Bitcoin market.

House of Cards

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any link to the episode but in season 2, episode 2 “Chapter 15”, bitcoins were mentioned alongside deep web. Were they referencing to the darknet and bitcoins? Watch it yourself to find out!

Parks and Recreation

“Just PayPal me some Bitcoins”

Yeah, just do that, The future is now and we should all be doing this. But here’s the thing, this episode was aired in 2014 and PayPal started accepting bitcoins in 2017 soo, sneak peek into the future?

What does this mean for Cryptocurrency?

Well, bitcoin was the word mentioned repeatedly and people just tend to know about that. But it’s a great place to start. The good news is that it has been happening for a long time and now, more and more shows/movies are mentioning the word bitcoin. This means that we are slowly gaining momentum towards mass adoption. It is being normalized more and more in daily conversation.

All of this really just means good news!
